The hotel's rooms were not as modern and simplistic as shown in the images, which was quite disappointing. However, they were still adequate in comparison to other hotels in Japan. The bathrooms, despite being small, functioned normally.

The staff dressed in Western-style clothes and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Housekeeping even prepared the tatami while we were out, showing great attention to detail and service.

The hotel's location was excellent, right up the street from Nishiki-dori and the main shopping area. It was centrally located, close to the river and metro stations, making it convenient to explore Kyoto.

The dining experience, including wearing yukatas and traditional sleepwear, was tasty and good value. The breakfast was a big surprise and comparable to options in the U.S.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. Despite the room being a bit cramped for four people and some noise from neighboring rooms, the service was outstanding with exceptionally caring and polite staff. The location was superb, surrounded by various dining options and close to main attractions. The dining offerings were delicious and good value, providing a mix of traditional and new culinary experiences.
